Materials Required: AMERICAN THREAD COMPANY "DAWN" KNITTING WORSTED
5 ozs. Golf Green.
1 oz. White.
1 pr. knitting needles No. 4.
Bone crochet hook No. 4.
5 snap fasteners.
GAUGE: 6 sts-1 inch.
PATTERN: 1st Row. * K 3, P 1, repeat from * across row.
2nd Row. K 2, * P 1, K 3, repeat from * across row, ending row with P 1, K 1. Repeat last 2 rows for pattern. With Green cast on 52 sts and work in pattern increasing 1 st on each side every row until there are 92 sts on needle. Work even in pattern until work measures 14 inches from the beginning.
Next Row. Decrease 1 st on each side, then decrease 1 st on each side every other row until there are 84 sts on needle. Work even until work measures 15 inches from the beginning.
Next Row. Work across 32 sts and place on a holder for right neck front, bind off next 20 sts for back of neck, work across remaining 32 sts. Work 1 row even ending at neck edge.
Next Row. Decrease 1 st at the beginning of row, then decrease 1 st at neck edge every other row until 24 sts remain. Work even for 3 inches, then decrease 1 st on each side every row until all sts have been worked, cut yarn.
RIGHT NECK BAND: Slip the 32 sts from holder and work same as left neck band reversing the shaping and decreasing, cut yarn.
RIGHT STRAP BAND: Attach Green about 5 inches from last increase at lower edge on right side of blanket and work 1 s c in each of next 6 rows, ch 1, turn.
Next Row. Work 1 s c in each s c, ch 1, turn. Repeat last row until band measures 6 inches from the beginning, cut yarn.
LEFT STRAP BAND: Work same as right band, but working only 1 ½ inches, cut yarn. Attach White at lower edge and work a row of s c all around the outer edge including the 2 strap bands, working 3 s c in each corner, join. Work 1 more row of s c all around, cut yarn. Finish with snap fasteners.
